Stabilizing geogrids offer a cost-effective alternative.

Materials used in land recultivation

Regardless of the method of reclamation, the material used to create new land is often very diverse – from rocks to sands, gravels, silts and clays. All of them have a high risk of settling and need to be treated before they can provide a stable and safe platform for development. In addition, these highly saturated soils can have a high potential for liquefaction, which is an important consideration in seismic areas.

There are a number of soil improvement techniques to accelerate consolidation, including dynamic and vibration compaction, vacuum consolidation, drainage, preloading, soil mixing, and the installation of stone columns.
