Geotubes can also be used not only to reinforce the bottom or the shore, but also simply as containers for burial of silt. After all, it happens that the silt or sand lifted from the bottom has to be transported far away, or the places allocated for this purpose are overfilled – sand is poured there, and then it gradually returns to the bottom again.
This variant of geotube utilization ensures disposal in compliance with all environmental requirements. For the purpose of ecological protection of water areas from pollution by suspended soil and silt, a protective screen can be used in the area of hydraulic works. This is a floating vertical curtain that prevents the spread of process suspended sediment across the water area.
